Just a couple of simple sketches I've done recently

Wall Mural.

I've been commissioned to produce an illustration of a tree with fauna/flora surrounding it in a Web design office building in Cairns. This is a draft I've produced for it.

My almost finished entry for a reddit competition.

New illustration.

This is another large scale piece I've been working on for the last two weeks, it was originally going to be used as a screen print design but my lines were too thin and close together so I'm just going to leave it as a fine art piece, it's also for sale if anyone is interested just contact me on KatChandler@live.com.au.

New humming bird concept art

While in the process of designing a humming bird tattoo for a potential clients girlfriend he stated that she wanted something different (a tat of a tree with the humming bird somehow incorporated) so while waiting to see what she's after and if they still want my work I've decided to transform this concept design into my own personal work, think I might refine/colour it with the Wacom in illustrator, I was thinking it would be pretty mental even to have it as a printed poster or screen print.

Me and Jez have primed two skateboards with a white base colour of paint so I plan on creating a new board piece real soon! Here's just a rough idea for a portrait to paint on it, think I might draw a bird nesting on her hand or something (:

Humming bird & flower

Just a really rough pen illustration & painting I sketched up yesterday, I was largely inspired by some previous works I had seen where water colours and inks were used in a loose drippy way with pen and wanted to try something similar myself.

For a while now I've been thinking of concepts to theme my work around, and I seem to always fall back on the idea of a chick in some kind of situation. While reading the latest issue of Cosmopolitian (yes I feel ashamed) I found an image of a naked chick bathing in a pool and it inspired me to draw this, a chick bathing in a wine glass with fruit surrounding her, this is a really rough draft but I plan on refining it with the Wacom in photoshop... also thinking I could possibly make a series like this with chicks in different kinds of deserts.

Recycled art - Snapped deck

Although this is an old piece, for some time now I have been formulating concepts of illustrations/artworks I can produce on broken skateboards to promote recycling and depict a new way of displaying my art on canvases. This is a water colour image of my old cat ( yes with wings ) trying to catch some humming birds. I have been messing around with this concept for a while now and although this is a finished piece I have still produced some better stuff, I'm not that happy with this and will try to improve on the subject matter and technique but it's a start :) xx

Just something I'm planning on painting on some wood, a lot of work to do to it though.

So the other day I tried using pastels for the first time in a while, drew this white rose over smudged charcoal, it's pretty rough but I had a lot of fun (: think I might make a pastel sketchbook.

The Otways national rainforest

So I camped at an amazingly beautiful forest for new years, bathed in a really pretty river and saw glow worms, was definitely so lovely.
